The "Kyoto Nishiyama: Blue Maple and Hydrangea Red Seal Tour" is being held in the Nishiyama area of Kyoto, which is dotted with numerous temples and shrines famous for their blue maples and hydrangeas and unique red seals. By visiting several of the shrines and temples listed in the event pamphlet, including Mukojinjya Shrine, Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine, and Yoshimine-dera Temple, and answering a web questionnaire, visitors will be entered into a drawing to win special products from Nishiyama, Kyoto. The pamphlet can be viewed on the web in PDF format ( *shortened URL) and is also available at Kyo-Navi (Kyoto Tourist Information Center in Kyoto Station), major stations on the Hankyu Railway Kyoto Line and JR Kyoto Line, and at temples and shrines listed in the pamphlet. Feel the breath of early summer in Nishiyama, Kyoto, where the capital was moved to Nagaokakyo in 787 and is still a treasure house of historical heritage, including ancient tombs and historic shrines and temples.

Seasonal red seals are available at Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine, with "Blue Plum Rain" awarded in June and "Shinryoku no Mori" in July. In addition, the temple of hydrangea, Yanagidani Kannon (Yokoku-ji Temple), also known as the temple of hydrangea, offers a "pressed flower red seal making experience" (reservation required) on the 17th of every month on a temple fair.
