Enjoy Miyama by Bicycle
The "Miyama Picnic Lunch & Bicycle Rental Plan" is a great way to explore Miyama, Kyoto, where the original landscape of good old Japan remains (reservation required). The rental bicycles are electric bicycles, so they are easy to use even on hilly terrain. You can choose your favorite lunch box from three restaurants that use plenty of local ingredients. Picnic baskets and seats are included in the fee, so you can join the tour empty-handed. Eating lunch in the clean air of nature is a special treat. The cycling course includes the "Kayabuki no Sato" where many houses with thatched roofs still exist, “Rennyo's Waterfall”, and many other places of interest. This plan is perfect for those who want to enjoy Miyama in an active way.
[From TIC TOKYO Concierge]
If you visit "Kayabuki no Sato", visit the "Miyama Folklore Museum". It is the perfect place to take a break and relax on the porch and enjoy the view of thatched village. “Cafe Milan”, popular for its handmade pudding and Miyama milk gelato, is also a good place to cool off.
