The Setouchi Triennale 2025, a contemporary art festival held once every three years that attracts about 1 million visitors from Japan and abroad, will begin on April 18, this year, three coastal areas in Kagawa Prefecture will be added to the list of venues, bringing the total to 17 areas. The beautiful scenery of the Seto Inland Sea can be enjoyed while traveling by boat to the islands where the festival will be held. The exhibition period is divided into three seasons (spring, summer, and fall), with some of the venues and artworks changing each time, so it is recommended to visit twice or three times to experience the charm of the Setouchi in each season while enjoying the art. The area is also dotted with works of art and architecture by famous artists, so visitors can enjoy art at any time of the year.

Convenient access to the venue is the Port of Takamatsu, which offers direct access to six islands, and is close to JR Takamatsu Station and the city center, making it a tourist hub known as “Sunport Takamatsu. Here you can also visit the Takamatsu Symbol Tower, Shikoku's largest high-rise tower overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, and the world's first glass-walled lighthouse, Setoshirube.
