The annual illuminations at Fujisanguchi Square in front of Gotemba Station are back again this year. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of Gotemba's establishment as a city, this year's theme is "Shining Gotemba - Celebrating 70 Years," and the venue is lit up with approximately 300,000 blue and white light bulbs. It welcomes visitors at the gateway to Gotemba City. When it comes to sightseeing in Gotemba in winter, there are the open-air natural hot spring baths overlooking the snow-capped Mount Fuji and the Tokinosumika illuminations, but why not also enjoy the illuminations in front of Gotemba Station, which welcome travelers?

Niihashi Sangen Shrine is a five-minute walk from the Mount Fuji Exit of Gotemba Station, and has been certified as a power spot for matchmaking, the "Lovers' Sanctuary." The grounds are lined with underground water from Mt. Fuji. Please visit Niihashi Sangen Shrine too, where the opening ceremony of Mount Fuji is held.
