The “Gotemba Cherry Blossom Festival”, now in its 23rd year, will be held on April 5 and 6. The main venue is Chichibunomiya Memorial Park, which boasts 140-year-old weeping cherry trees in full bloom, as well as “Gotobara Sakura Road,” a 1km-long cherry tree-lined road, and Heiwa Park, where visitors can enjoy 1,000 cherry trees of various kinds. There are also cherry blossom viewing spots throughout the city where visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms with Mt. Fuji. Also, this year, the Spring MIYAtei FEStival will be held at the same time at Chichibunomiya Memorial Park. Workshops and craft products will be sold. Other events will be held in various locations, and the cherry blossom festival will be further enlivened by the many stalls selling classic food and local delicacies.

From late March to early April, the cherry blossoms will be lit up at night in Chichibunomiya Memorial Park, Fujisan Juku no Mori, Gotenba Kogen Tokinosumika, and Higashiyama Kannondo.
